A History of the Amateur Karate Foundation
Client: Ohtsuka Amateur Karate Foundation (AKF)
Context:
When it was time to update the training resources for the AKF, we decided to take the opportinuty to film a short documentary about it’s founder, Sensei Joseph Rempel. We aimed to create a short documentary that could be shown to new and old members, and give them a bigger experience of the organization they are a part of.
Goal: Capture Sensei Joseph Rempel’s experience of founding the AKF in a documentary, and build a legacy piece that honours new and current students into the foundation’s legacy.
Reception:
The reception has been fantastic! From children to adults, members are delighted with the documentary. They love learning about their organization’s origins, and it really gives a bigger feeling of community to each member.
Budget: Under $10,000 as a project
